Id like some advice/information about financial matters regarding my parents house/mortgage.
Im 30 years old and living at home with my parents, in cambridge, United Kingdom. My parents are considering doing an extension to the side and back of the house. they plan to convert the garage extension into a flat and build conservatory at back.
They are not in a position to do this. My mum has a chronic back problem and i dont think she will be able to do it. My parents have refused to listen to me.
however, i would like to find out if there is any way of taking control of my parents finances. Or to stop this extension. I do not think it is necessary for them to do it.
Thank You

Answer This depends on their mental stability and where you live. I do not think there is a way to do this unless your parents are incapable of taking care of themselves and this is hard to prove. This is way beyond my expertise so if you wish to pursue this further you need professional advice from someone other than a financial professional.
