Question I am an Indian stationed at Chennai at present and have been posted to Nepal on an assignment. I will be there for three years. Can you kindly tell me,
1. What are the requirements for going into Nepal (I hold a valid Indian passport).
2. whch is the easiest and cheapest way to fly into Nepal from Chennai.
Answer Hi Murali,
For a short holiday you don't need a visa to enter Nepal. A valid passport will do. However, since you are going there on work, it is better to check with your employer about the rules and regulations for long term work-related stay. There could be other formalities that you may need to complete and papers you may need to carry before entering and working in Nepal.
The easiest way to go to Nepal from Chennai would be to take a flight to Kolkata and from there a direct flight to Kathmandu. You can also fly from Varanasi. So check both routes with your travel agent.
