Question i want to travel in nepal from september for few months. everyone is telling me its unsafe now and there are many protests that may continue until and after the olympics. should i think about cancelling my trip there?
Answer Hi Becky,
Nepal has settled down quite a lot and if I were you I would go ahead with my plans. It's no more unsafe than your normal big city in the western world and if you take the normal common sense precautions you should be OK and able to enjoy the country.
Protests will continue and as long as they are not targeting tourists (which is highly unlikely) you should be OK. There may be a few delays because of protests on the streets but these should not be a show-stopper for you.
So go ahead and plan your trip. I have always enjoyed Nepal whenever I have been there although I haven't been there in recent times.
