Have just recently started a Computer User Group in a new Over 55 Active Adult Community and presently have 220 members. We have had numerous virus problems which we have learned to irradicate. It was quite a challenge, but we helped them. I have used dialup, cable broadband, DSL and currently using FiberOPtic High Speed Broadband.I am also Computer Tutor. I have NO experience with MAC computers.
Question No. I am talking about the "Go" item at the top of the browser page (The line reads "File Edit View Go Bookmarks Tools Window Help".) Click on the Go pull-down menu, then select History, which opens the History window. Expand any group with a "+" box in from of it. Select an individual item, then click on the Edit menu at the top of the window. The list you now see includes a line which says "Delete entire domain xxxx.yyy". Clicking on that command should delete all items in the group (the "xxxx.yyy" group.) This worked in previous versions of Netscape, but is not working in my version of Netscape 7.2.

Question -
Recently I updated to Netscape 7.2, and found a problem trying to delete groups of addresses in the History listing. In previous versions, one could select one entry, then from the pulldown menu click on Edit ... Delete entire domain xxxx. When I try this now, nothing gets erased. (The option is NOT grayed out.) I am running Windos 2000 Professional
Answer -
Joe, please explain. Are you in Netscape Address Book?
or in the mail section. Do you have a Folder named Collected addresses?
Here is info I found on HISTORY in Netscape Help.
Navigator Preferences - History
This section describes how to use the History preferences panel. If you're not already viewing it, follow these steps:
1. Open the Edit menu and choose Preferences.
2. Under the Navigator category, click History. (If no subcategories are visible, double-click Navigator to expand the list.)
The History preferences panel allows you to configure three history settings on Navigator.
* Browsing History:
o Remember visited pages for the last __ days: Type the number of days you want Netscape to keep track of the web pages you have previously visited. For example, if you set this number to 10 days, pages 10 days old or less will be kept in the history list.
o Clear History: Click this to delete the list of sites visited.
* Location Bar History:
o Clear Location Bar: Click this to clear the list of sites in the Location bar menu.
Is this the area you are asking about?
Answer Joe,
I went to Go, History and selected 6 days ago and was able to delete. I also clicked on the most recent and then went to Edit, picked "Select all" and it highlighted all of them.
My next move would be to select DELETE, I did not do that as I do not want to delete them. It looks like mine is working. Possibly you have a corrupted file. My suggestion would be to download Netscape 7.2 again. It will overlay what you have and hopefully correct the bad file.
Another suggestion would be to run a scan disk and set the setting to repair any bad files.
