Question
Let's just say any answer would be helpful and would put me in the right direction I need to go. But first let me explain my situation...Over (3yrs) ago January of 2003 I and a mild sinus infection. I was put and antibiotics of course and nasanex. It worked cleared everything up. In March of 2003 I had another sinus infection, this one was a little worse than than the first. I was given a stronger antibiotic (2000mg of Augmiten) I had to take twice a day and more nasanex. I was over halfway done taking the meds, when I noticed my that lip was feeling numb, but only half of my lip (on the right side). Then it had spread, from my forehead, my eye, my cheek,ect...even my tongue and gums now have this numbness feeling. I went to a neurologist and have had a CT scan with contrast done (2)MRI's with contrast as well and nothing was found. Blood work was normal too. I don't have bell's palsy ( I still have facial movement) I don't have MS or lyme disease, I haven't had a stroke or heart attack. He couldn't find anything, and the right side of my face is still has this numbness feeling and has never gone away. More symptoms have come up as well. Sometimes my ears will ring (very loud every once in a while), sometimes both my ears will feel really hot inside and feels like liquid is coming out of my ear and nothing is there. I have a very hard knot (something) on my jaw bone right in front of my right ear, if you were to look at me, you can see the difference compared to my left side. I have also noticed any time I have sinus problems it does tend feel more numbness. So, as of November of 2006 I still have this facial numbness. I feel that what ever has been causing this may be permanent, or do I even wish that someone might actual tell they can help.

Answer
Your symptoms really suggest a tumor , if the imaging was taken for a long time,it maybe useful to repeat.and need evaluation your ear canal and hearing acuity.if these all negative study, then it's idiopathic trigeminal neuropathy, which no treatment available .just thanks god you have this dz, not other more serious those can disable you
