Question
whats the difference between a neuropsychologist and a clinical psychologist?

Answer
Hi Sam,

The difference between those two titles often differ very little as some of their experise and responsibilities overlap. Indeed, in real life these people carry out a lot of similar functions. Officially, (or how I understand it) a neuropsychologist deals with mainly brain abnormalities from incidents such as lesions or genetic diseases (like a neurology) and a clinical psychologist deals mainly with more behavioural problems with (un)specified cause (like a psychiatrist). Some people use these titles to distinguish the "actual" neurologists and psychiatrists (both have to be medically qualified) from the neuropsychologists and the clinical psychologists (both are dependent on the admission to exclusive courses but are not medically trained).

Thanks,
