Nevada - Legal Drinking/Gambling Age

Expert: Alan Di Stefano - 3/7/2005

Question
We are considering a family vacation to Las Vegas this summer.  Our son is 18 years old - what is the legal drinking and gambling age in the state of Nevada?

Answer
The legal age for both drinking and gambling in Nevada is 21. This age limit is very strictly enforced for gambling as security people in the casinos will ask anyone within 3 feet of a gaming device to leave the area. Many of the casinos have very sohpisticated video arcades for those under 21. Also, there are numerous activities, shows and attractions for those under 21 in Las Vegas (such as the Star Trek Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton). You hotel should be able to suggest such activities to you on your arrival.
