About Diann Tonnesen
Expertise
I am a 22 year resident of Las Vegas and Henderson and I can answer any questions having to do with buying or selling real estate in the Las Vegas Valley. I am a professional Realtor with Century 21 and I have raised my children here, so I am particularly good at advising families about schools and neighborhoods. I just love Las Vegas and I want everyone to know Las Vegas is more than just casinos - it`s a fabulous place to live and work! The community is filled with loads of cultural activities, parks and friendly people and our weather is wonderful year round.

Experience
My husband and I have been serving the Las Vegas Valley since 1983, so we really know the neighborhoods and can access them through our database which has over 8,000 new and resale homes. For our buyers we offer in-house lending at below market rates plus complete relocation services including free utility connection hook ups. For our sellers we have terrific strategies for preparing a home to get top dollar, and we have a high-tech comprehensive marketing program that will effectively promote their home to millions of people around the world daily.

Question
Hi Diann, I am 30 years old and been living in Brooklyn,NY. I want to go to Vegas because my family is there. I currently work in a hotel and have much evperience in retail management and real estate. My credit sucks however. How difficult do you think it we be for me to "start Over" in big Nevada. Im really at a crossroads here, Thanks

Answer
Hi Drew,

Without looking at your credit report it is hard to say how difficult it will be to get a loan. But a good mortgage lender can definitely give you suggestions on how to get it cleared up and they will help you free of charge. Usually if all collections are paid off it only takes six months to a year to get things straightened away. It will help a lot to get a job in the same field as your previous experience in retail management or the hotel industry. However, if you decide to go into a field like real estate, you will need at least two years of earnings in Las Vegas to qualify for a mortgage as you would be self-employed. If you have a current copy of your credit report and would like to forward it to me, I would be happy to have a lender look at it and let you know what he thinks.
