Question
I wasn't sure how to respond to your question...which button to push.  This was not a homework assignment as I have been out of school for 19 years.  I was just curious.

-----Question-----
What type of vegetation is there around Carson City Nevada besides sage
brush?
-----Answer-----
Because you have chosen not to respond to my question, I can only assume that YOUR question was a homework assignment.  I have notified AllExperts.com of this so that further questions from your email address are scrutinized prior to being sent to an expert for answer.

>What type of vegetation is there around Carson City Nevada besides sage brush?

May I ask the nature of your question? (Is this homework?)

-----Question-----

Thank you for your response concerning your question NOT being a homework assignment. Many times, I've been asked questions which are obvious homework assignments given to  children and teenagers. Please accept my apology but your question was similar to ones I've been asked repeatedly in the past!

The Vegetation Zone encompassing Carson City is primarily sage as you suspected. Other plants found in this zone include: Desert Peach, Bitter brush, Ephedra , Indian Ricegrass, and occasional Juniper and Pinyon trees. I'm told that springtime is wonderful as the scent of sage mixes with the other blooming shrubs. Most vegetation in this zone is best described as "brush". There are a number of rare and endangered plants in this zone. A list may be found at: http://heritage.nv.gov/lists/cocarson.htm

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is a GREAT source of further, more detailed information about this topic. They are located at 901 South Stewart Street, Suite 5002 • Carson City, Nevada 89701-5245. Phone: (775) 684-2900  fax: (775) 684-2715
