Nevada - Picnicing with trees!

Question
Hi, I live in Summerlin and would like to take my husband and two daughters to a beautiful tree filled park to have a picnic on Father's Day.  I really don't know of a place we can go to in the area.  I'd rather not drive to Cathedral Rock or out that far.  Do you have any suggestions for me?  I don't mind kids running around but would perfer a nice quiet cozy area.  Thanks for your help!  :)

Answer
What an unusual question!  About the only place around Las Vegas that I can even remember seeing lots of trees would be out toward Mt. Charleston but you thought that might be a little too far for you to travel.

Perhaps Floyd Lamb State Park might suit your needs. It has trees and is a bit close to Las Vegas. http://www.parks.nv.gov/fl.htm
