Question
i have been told that in certain casinos that u can b 18 and gamble is this true cause my family is planing a trip to las vegas this month? if not what can a 18 year old young man do?

Answer
In Nevada you MUST be 21 to gamble. Whoever told you that you could gamble at 18 is incorrect. As far as what an 18 year old can do in Las Vegas it depends on exactly when you go and what are your interests. If you like outdoor sports (hiking, fishing, etc.) and it is not during the middle of the summer (too hot then) you can explore Red Rocks, Valley of Fire State Park and Lake Mead, go geocahceing or play golf. If you are into playing in game arcades you should visit Circus Circus. If you like science fiction and Star Trek you should go to the Star Trek Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton. If you have never seen the Grand Canyon you can take a helicopter ride through the canyon from the Las Vegas airport. If you like auto racing you could go see a race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway (you will need to check their schedule for the time you will be there). If you like music there are many permanent and traveling concerts that you can attend. If you like spectator sports the National Finals Rodeo is the first week of December and the NBA All Star Game is Feb. 12-19, 2007.

For information on all of the things that you can do in Las Vegas besides gambling please go to Nevada's tourism website at: www.travelnevada.com. On the website click on Activities and then click on Las Vegas Territory for a list of all of the upcoming events in Las Vegas.

Have fun!
