Question I've always been interested in spirituality, but never more so than a couple of years ago, when an incident happened which forced me to fully commit to the spiritual path. There have many times when I have felt truly connected to God, Jesus etc and I have sought to increase my communion further with avidly studying the ascended masters and sites like your which truly resonate with me. Just lately over the past month, I have felt drawn to studying and using the violet flame. When I use it, at the time I feel absolutely wonderful and feel inspired to use it not just for myself, but for others around me. I sometimes get a glimpse of it when I close my eyes. However, since using it more and more, I seem to be facing an increasing number of challenges and as that has happened, I have been using the violet flame more and more even hourly, to try and gain insight into the issues and to counteract the effects of the challenges. This has generally worked really well, until yesterday when I faced something intensely challenging, something which threatens to derail me completely from the spiritual path if I give in. I really do not want that to happen, but it's as though I'm struggling with a force inside me and it's taking over my mind. I don't understand how it's happened and for the time being, I have stopped using the violet flame. Please could you advise me? I ought to add that I do protect myself once a day by visualising the tube of light around me.

Answer Hi Liz, it sounds like your violet flame decrees are certainly stirring things up, and while that it is a very good thing, it also needs to be balanced with the blue flame - the flame of protection and God's will. I can understand why you stopped using the violet flame but the best thing would be to begin each session with a solid portion of decrees to Archangel Michael for protection, so that the violet flame can do its work without the opposition from the dark side that you've been experiencing. You mentioned that it's as though there's a force inside you causing challenges - it sounds like your Dweller-on-the-Threshold is coming to the fore - this is the not-self, the part of us that God didn't create but is a conglomeration of all our misuse of energy from this life and previous lives. It's popularized by the "devil on your shoulder" idea.
If you haven't already had a look, the 'Protection' section on Spiritual Encyclopedia might be useful to you, in particular the Travelling Protection decree on this page: http://www.spiritual-encyclopedia.com/spiritual-warfare-prayers.html - you don't have to just use it for travelling, you could start each session with it (repeat it 3 or 9 times or more) along with the Tube of Light decree that you mentioned doing already.
It's actually much more powerful to do decrees by following along with a recording. I'd like to send you a CD and booklet of decrees to Archangel Michael that you could incorporate into your decree sessions and also just play quietly in the background while you're doing other things, to help build up a momentum of Archangel Michael's protection with you.
