Question
hey there,
i havent really listened to alot of new age in my life but i stumbled across pure mood cds on amazon and i downloaded some of the songs on it and wow it is such a great genre. I know of yanni...hes a good composer but i only like a few of his songs. Enya and loreena mckinnett, celtic but sometimes new age, are both great artists, and mehdi, another version of yanni, and i liek tribal music that takes it root from new age as well. Do you have any suggestions for really good, melodic (not too boring and mellow)and just-really-gets-to-you music? for example nightingale by yanni, deliver me by sarah brightman. really good stuff. something similar to those.

Answer
Of course, a common question. And welcome to new age music.
Music is such a personal taste thing, that I'm gonna recommend several sites. one is the main new age reporter lists, you can check several top 100 lists: http://www.newagereporter.com/charts/top100.asp
Also Eric Mystic has a great website with lots of lists and esp the best 100 new age albums of all time at http://www.kkup.com/ericlist.html
My show's list on kxci.org you can check brainwaves' playlists can be found at kxci.org. Go back a year and you can find mine and Doug's playlists. (we are not doing the show right now and I don't vouch for what they are playing now.
Hope this helps
Roger
