Question
We are moving to Las Cruces from Milwaukee by car soon.  Are there restrictions on bringing in a few house plants, like an African violet and a couple of small Christmas cactus plants?

Answer
Hi Susan,
I don't know of any interstate restrictions about transporting houseplants across state lines, except maybe for California.  I had a neighbor in Albuquerque with African violets and we had purchased more than one Christmas cacti throughout the years so I'd not worry about it.  I hope they survive the cross-country trip.

All the best,
Valerie
