Experience
basically, i've spent a LOT of time in new orleans, both on business and as a tourist. i can honestly say it's my favorite town in the entire world.

Subject: The streetcar

Question
I plan to stay at Marquette hostel on Carondelet.  How safe is it to ride the streetcar from the French quarter to the hostel late at night (2am).  Where is it best to board the streetcar from Bourbon st. or do you recommend a cab?

Answer
for a guy, should be safe [if i were a girl, i'd always catch a cab].  but i'd also check to make sure it's running that late.  also keep in mind that, depending on your state of mind at 2am on bourbon, you might have to concentrate really hard to  remember your stop.
