Question
Hi,
My partner and I are travelling to New York from the 2nd to 7th July of this year and we really wanted to see a Yankee's game but the cost of sending tickets to Australia is astronomical plus we are worried about them getting lost in the post. Are you able to buy tickets at the gate?

Also we really want to see some shows on Broadway probably Wicked and maybe another. What is the best way to buy tickets to avoid paying full price (if it is possible).

Another thing I'm not sure if you are able to help on this one but I am gluten intolerant (celiac) and was wondering if there any restraunts in NY you would recommend?

We are also finding it hard to work out the best way to see everything. Would you recommend a bay cruise? or a day tour of NY? What sights are the must dos?

Your insight would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Megan

Answer
Megan,

You asked a bunch of questions and here are my answers:

1) You can purchase tickets at the gate at Yankee Stadium, just be sure that the team is playing there the week that you are visiting.  Some great deals are on the "stub hub" website.

2) The TKTS booth in Times Square will get you half price tickets for that day in most Broadway shows.

3) The special meal request for restaurants in NYC are beyond my expertise. You can try calling the places where you would like to dine and inquire.

4) Everyone has there own "must see" list for our town. My suggestion is go see what you want to see. It all depends on your taste. There are 1000's of places to see and a million things to do.

Have a great trip!

John
