Question
What is the cheapest way to get from JFK to Stamford, CT?

Answer
It will cost you $21 (or $24 if travelling during rush hour) and 2 to 3 hours.

*  Air-Train (stops in front of each terminal) to Jamaica Center ($5)
*  E Subway to Lexington/53rd then free transfer to 6 Subway to Grand Central Station ($2)
*  Metro-North Railroad to Stamford ($14-$17)

As an alternative to Air-Train / subway combo, you can take an Airport Express Bus from the airport direct to Grand Central ($15).

Hope you don't have a lot luggage -- you'll have a decent amount of walking to do at the transfers and some stairs.
