When I go to NYC, I stay with family! I am honest and if I don't know the answer I will tell you. Often you have to do your own research on the internet and that will give you an answer. I will point you to useful websites but you have to do your own research, I can't do it for you!

Question Hi: Myself and 2 daughters are going to New York May 9-15 for our first visit. Should we take a coat or will a light hoodie or jacket be adequate? Will it be warm enough to wear capri pants versus long pants? What would be appropriate attire to the Broadway Theatre at night? We would like to keep our luggage to a minimum.

Answer Spring weather is notoriously unreliable in the NE. I would check the weather forecast for NYC right before you leave for your trip and pack accordingly. Irregardless you will need a jacket in the evenings. For Broadway, wear nice pants/skirt and shirt. Pack comfortable shoes because you will be walking a lot!
