Question Dear Don, i'm Dita, 24, female from Jakarta Indonesia. I intend to take a short course at the New Zealand Film Academy, Auckland, in August and was wondering about a place to stay during my six weeks there. I looked up the internet and there seem to be a lot hostels in auckland, but only a few have websites, so i'm still not too clear about that. The NZFA is in New Market,so...do you think it would cost less to look for a hostel nearby so i don't have to spend too much on transportation? Are there any good, not too expensive,save and not too loud hostels you could recommend?

I can't say I have any knowledge of the Auckland Hostel situation however I am sure there will be plenty in the New Market area as it is quite near the University. I would email the Auckland City Council information site and enquire through them or try www.searchnz.co.nz and enter 'hostels'
You could also try www.yha.org.nz and www.bbh.co.nz
You could also take temporary accommodation in the area for a couple of days and ask around when you get here. New Market has a large Asian population (by NZ standards) who will no doubt be able to show you where is best.
