Question Why did the band select "Nirvana" as it's band name?
Answer Hello Nick,
As you may already know, the band went through a lot of different names, (and different drummers!!) before settling on a name, NIRVANA. Kurt actually named the band himself, and to quote him ""I wanted a name that was kind of beautiful or nice and pretty instead of a mean, raunchy punk rock name like the Angry Samoans." It was not a collaborative decision.
Jennifer
