Nirvana - reopening of case

Expert: Dave Ashley - 5/22/2007

Question
I'm sure you have been asked this before but I was wondering if the state of Washington could decide on their own or from pressure from people beside Kurts family to reopen the case and what is the likelihood of that happening? Also, anything anyone on the outside can do to put pressure on them?

Answer
I have talked with and keep in touch in Kurt's grandpa, Leland Cobain, he still lives in a small town near Aberdeen where Kurt grew up.  In terms of the state of Washington opening the case, there are essentially two options, with one of them just changing due to a recent death, actually two deaths.  I'll explain.
1st. The District Attorney of Seattle/King County can decided whether or not to re-open a "closed" case on their own judgement.  But, as of Thursday or Friday of last week, like May 24 or 25th, the prosecuting attorney, Norm Maleng just died.  He, on his own, if received enough public pressure could have opened the case.  I have emailed him constantly, and sent him mail through the U.S. Postal Service.  If, Norm was still alive then option two comes about.
2.  If the local government wont take the case, the Federal Government can override the state government and take the case themself.  Examples or the FBI and Dept. of Justice.  I and many others have written and emailed the Local Seattle FBI headquarters and the nationwide FBI headquarters located in Washington D.C.  I encourage to please become a member or our group.  There is the myspace group and the yahoo group KCWM , meaning Kurt Cobain Was Murdered.  http://www.kcwm.com/  this will get  you started.  More importantly, these two sites are a must for getting thorough and correct info on Kurt's death and the public pressure game.  www.justiceforkurt.com  and  www.cobaincase.com, cobaincase.com is Tom Grant's personal Kurt Cobain website. I keep regular contact with Tom Grant who was the Private Eye that Courtney Love hired to look for Kurt when he jumped the wall at the Exodus Rehab Center in Marina Del Ray in Los Angeles.  There are petition links that you can sign to , as to add you and your friends names to the list.  There are probably 6 or more petition sites.  Anyhow, stick with www.kcwm.com and www.justiceforkurt.com and you'll be fine.  Join up with us because we are actively trying to get the case open, using a variety of techniques.  Are major is public pressure.  This is done when we organize about 1500 or more people to send letters to the Chief of Police in Seattle, the Mayor of Seattle, the Local Seattle FBI, and National FBI, Seattle City Council, and of course the Seattle/King County District Attorney.  All of these mailing addresses can be found on the sites I listed or go to www.seattle.gov and you can find every important person's mailing address, don't get confused because they list the actual physical working address which differs from the mailing address, I learned this the hard way.  Once you go to www.kcwm.com, you'll see posts that people have left and downloads and uploads, the latest upload is list of all the proper mailing addresses for the above mentioned people and more.  You should send a letter to the Washington State Attorney General.  This is the head honcho.  I hope I helped.  Dave Ashley.  you can reach me for more questions or help with registering with the sites I mentioned by emailing me at davecashley@yahoo.com
