i was just listening to the starting of the song "daughters of the northern coast" by australian crawl and i noticed that the starting of this song is almost identical to that of "smells like teen spirit".
i was wondering if you knew anything about this as the australian crawl song was written about ten years before teen spirit. did nirvana get the rights to this piece of music or is it just coincidence?

Ive never heard that song, or heard of it. To be honest Im not sure if they ever got rights to use it. The fact that you said "Almost" identical means they probably didnt. There is another punk song that I belive that Kurt may have been inspired by melody wise when writing Teen Spriti, but the name slips my mind at the moment.
