Nissan Repair/1994 GLE radio - no power

Question
Hi Calvin, The radio in my 1994 Altima GLE does not function any longer.  This is a factory installed unit consisting of an AM/FM radio, cassette and CD player.  None of the components operate (radio.CD or cassette).  The unit suddenly lost power.  No other electrical utiliy or option has failed (i.e., power windows, power door locks, etc.).  Hope you can give some insight in diagnosing this problem. This car has a nice sound system and I truly would like to have the function restored.
Thanks in advance, Ronny

Answer
Hi Ronny -

Sorry for the late response. Hawaii time (LOL).

Anyway, the first thing I would check is your fuse. Should be under dash near the driver's side. Find the one fore the radio and pull it out. If there is a break in the metal piece, repalce the fuse.

Have you had any electrical device installed or worked on?

Also, sometimes these devices have an in line fuse, so you must check that as well, but since it is a factory unit, I doubt it.

Since all components are not working, it probably is a fuse somewhere.

Hope this helps, Ronny
Aloha -
