Nissan Repair - Micra battery light

Expert: Calvin Iwashita - 2/17/2008

Question
My Micra battery light keeps going on and off when it feel like it. It has been in the garage several times for new battery and a new alternator and the mechanics cant find the problem. WHat can it be and how can I fix it? Mnay thanks.

Answer
Hi Martin -

the only thing I can think of is the alternator is not charging enough under load. I just could be that you have adefective alternator.

Please have it load tested. At idle with the headlights on, should read a minimum of 13 volts.

Hope this helps -
