Nissan Repair - j-30 infinity

Expert: Calvin Iwashita - 2/16/2008

Question
when you start the car and put it in drive or reverse it will go but shortly after it will stop pulling as if its in nuetral

Answer
Hi Gabe -

First of all , I would check the transmission oil level. With the vehicle warmed up and running, pull the dipstick and check the oil for proper level. Also at the same time, check the condition of the oil. It should be red in color. If it is brown and smells burnt, change the oil, then check driveability again.

If it still slips, then your transmission will need an overhaul.

Take it to a competent Mechanic

Hope this helps -
