Nissan Repair - power windows and door locks

Expert: Calvin Iwashita - 2/19/2008

Question
Yes,my 1993 nissan D21 pickup power windows and power door locks stopped working on both left and right sides.Could this be the power window switch on driver side or is there another problem ?Thanks for your help and opinion.

Answer
Hi Chuck -

Being that both the windows and locks are not working, I would doubt if it is the switch.

Have you checked the fuse? There are 2 places to check this - One of them is where all the other fuses are (under dash driver's side), and in the engine compartment above the fender where all the relays and large circuit fuses are.

It will help tremendously if you have a 12V test lamp. connect one side to any metal surface on the car, and touch the 2 terminals of the fuse in question, one at a time. If one terminal does not light, you have found the problem!

hope this helps
