Subject: Odometer not working

Question
I have nissan altima 1998 model car. My speedometer is working well and odometer is not working. Can it be fixed or need a replacement. Even if it is fixed, can you tell me where that can be done?
Boopathi

Answer
Boopathi,

If the odometer is mechanical or electronic it really does not matter.  The car is ten years old so just get one from a wrecking yard.  The cost of getting yours repaired or the cost of a rebuilt unit is around $300 bucks.  So, a used one is the best option.  It is pretty easy to do the change out.
