Nissan Repair - take out power steering pump on nissan quest 94

Expert: Von Sudderth - 11/3/2009

Question
Please what is the best way to take out a power steering pump on 94 Nissan quest and best way to install.  Is there a site for free manual or any help/ideas

Answer
Ironman,

No easy way to do the job but to get under the vehicle and do the work from the bottom.  There is the pressure line, the return line and two bolts that hold the pump.  A royal pain to access the long bolt from the back.  A Haynes Manual can be purchased for about $20 bucks.  I would make sure to fill the system after you install the new one.  Then, start the vehicle and turn the wheel lock to lock, turn off the vehicle, top off the powersteering fluid.  Repeat the process until full.  http://questdriver.com/ is a good site to source free information.  Check it out as it has many useful articles.
