Nissan Repair/nissan sentra 1997 won't start no crank

Question
I took out the starter. Did a bench test. It seemed to work fine.
What could it be?

Answer
Hi Paula -

If it is not the starter, the battery needs to be checked:

1. Do a load test on the battery (besides the voltage test).
2. Check all connections for tightness and clean (terminals, all wire connections)

Note: The bench test for starters is not an accurate test, as the starter is activated without load. It could still be the starter that is defective.

hope this helps -
