Question
Can an Italian citizen visiting the US apply for and be granted a business visa for China while in the US?  The person is a citizen of Italy. He would return to the US after ten days in China.  Is there is place in the US (embassy, consulate, etc) that can issue a visa on his Italian passport from the US to China?

Answer
Hi Lori,

It seems you should take a Green card, work or study visa or other valid visa in US while apply for the Chinese Visa. Or you should have some special case that can touch the visa officer.

Good luck to you and welcome to China!

     8. Non-US citizens shall provide documents valid for at least 6 months that entitles them to reside for an extended period of time in the US, Such as a Green card, work or study visa (together with their copies). Temporary visitors to the US should apply for a Chinese visa in their own country. For the special case, the visa officer has the rights to make the final decision to issue a visa or not.
