Question
Is my father sole beneficiary of estate now or is he entitled to one sixth?

My grandfather left no will when he died years ago. He had six children.  Of those children, only my father is  now still alive. Is my father the sole beneficiary or is it divided amongst the children of the original 5 children and my father?
Also, my father has not paid any taxes etc. on the land and house.  An unmarried sister lived in the house  in Italy for over 40 years. The house is on a title called  "agricultural dwelling"

Thank you for your help in advance.

R. Gilbert

Answer
According to Italian civil code your father is entitled to one sixth.
Due to your father did not lived in the house he do not has to pay any taxes.
His sister, (it is not clear if she is still alive), is entitled to live in the until the sale or division between the heres.

Best regards
