Question
I have a question I do not know if you can help me or not but I do Charitable Gaming for are band and I have been doing it for almost 3 years and I'm having a problem with are treasury she wants all of my financial records and I report to the charitable gaming every quart and she thinks that she should have control over the general fund and the bingo account and I would like to found out if she can do that because they are two separate account's we have to have one for charitable gaming because we have to report to them every quarter could you please help me. thanks


Answer
The Board of Directors of the 501(c)(3) organization or School Board, if it is a public school, needs to keep the account in the name and EIN of the organization, not in yours. Your issue is controlled by state law and states may differ somewhat with how they would treat such issues.
