Question Our organization proveds services to a leadership youth group (ages 15-20) as well as other programs for the comunity. Our by-law state "active participants of any program are considered a member" and "all active members have voting rights".
Is there and federal law that states a minimum age for membership and/or voting restrictions?
Answer I would need to know the subsection of IRC 501(c) under which the organization was incorporated and received its exemption determination from the IRS. If it is a 501(c)(3) organization, I would need to know if it is a private foundation. After you reply I will respond again.
