Question
* Do employees, on a 2 yr. contract, of World Bank in Australia have to pay income-tax or is their income tax-free?
* What passport the WB employees travel on? United Nations or their national passport.

Please advise.

Thanks & regards,

Pankaj

Answer
Are the employees U.S. citizens or permanent residents.  If so, yes, their income is taxable according to Internal Revenue Service Regulations.

As far as I know, there is no such thing as a UN passport so they would travel on their own national passport.

Thank you.
