AboutRoy Helge Rasmussen Expertise I live in the southern part of norway and can find my way around most of the country. I will answer questions about social life, culture, language and politics to the best of my knowledge. I am not so good at travel tips outside the south-eastern parts, although I will try to answer.
Experience I live here and have been guiding members of my family around when they visit from abroad for years.
Question Im working in Norwegian continental shelf full time. Paying tax and social tax to Norway. Im a resident of Uk. My question is this, can I work in my free time at home, either self employed or as an employee, depending what work I can get. And what Tax liability do I have to either country for this work, Im aware of the joint taxation agreement. So can I do this work tax free in UK?
Thanks in advance
Paul
Answer Well, first of all... Yes you can work.
Tax free? You're joking right? We're talking about the british and norwegian government here. Rest assured ... there are two things certain in life: taxes and death.
But how much taxes do you pay? And to whom?
Those are the two big questions, and I do not want to start guessing because I really don't know.
So the best advice I can give is to give your norwegian "Liknigskontor" a call and ask them. And then do the same thing in the UK. Ask the tax-people how this is done.
