About Richard Rost
Expertise
I am happy to answer any questions from those who are overweight and want to learn how to lose weight through proper diet and exercise. I spent a year of my life studying weight loss and brought myself from 340 pounds down to a healthy 185 pounds the RIGHT way: no fad diets, pills, or crazy machines - just healthy eating and some moderate exercise. I'm happy to share my knowledge with you. I also have my own web site at RicksWeightLoss.com

Experience
My knowledge is all practical, life experience. I spent over a year reading dozens of books, online literature, magazines, and lots of other sources. I've studied nutrition, weight-lifting, bodybuilding, exercise science, and many other fitness-related fields.

Education/Credentials
I have no formal education in fitness or nutrition. But, then again, I am a computer programmer and trainer with no formal education in my field either. I'm completely self-taught in everything I do. However, I can give you plenty of tips and pointers on how to safely lose weight.

Nutrition & Dieting - after what time shouldn't you eat when trying to loss weight?

Question
Hi i want to know how many hours before going to bed should be my
last meal? im drinking grean tea, is there any special brand i should buy and how many times a day should i drink the grean tea. Is casein protein good to drink before going to bed and how long before going to bed should i drink it . please help thank you

Answer
Weight loss is calories in - calories out. It's more important to make sure you're eating the right number of calories a day than to worry about when your last meal is. HOWEVER, I generally recommend not eating within 2 or 3 hours of going to sleep. Your metabolism slows down when you sleep which slows fat burning and digestion.

Green tea: whatever you like. I don't recommend green tea as a weight-loss agent, but if you like it, drink it. NO SUGAR, of course.

Protein shakes are good AFTER A WORKOUT or if you're afraid you're not getting enough protein in your diet. If you're not lifting weights, you shouldn't be drinking protein shakes.
