Question
Hello Lela,

I am 25 year old women , 122 pound with 5.4 height..
i want to boost my metabolism so i can loose my weight to 10 pound.. i am very hard working. i work out 2 hours a day with cardio and weigh training.. also some days in week i go for kick boxing and high impact step class..

i am vegetarina woman.. most of the day time i eat fruits and non fat milk and at dinner time i eat vegetable soup with indian bean(moong) and nonfat yogurt..

and for a snak i some times eat hand full penuts or almond and walnuts..
i give little break of my dieting and exercise on weekend..

my metabolism is very slow..if you can advice me to boost my metabolism and which kind of vegetarian protein should i eat and also how much calorie do i need to have per day to loose 10 pound of weight..

is it OK to eat little bit of nuts to loose weight?

At 5'4" and 122pounds, you don't have a weight problem! You could lose 10 lbs and still be within a healthy weight, but you would be at the low end of what is considered healthy.

Nuts are great because they have the essential fats that you need for proper brain function.

I think that you could maybe go a little easier on your exercise- exercising very hard for 2 hours everyday is a good way to get an overuse injury, which will mean you can't exercise while it heals- Slow and steady wins the race so give yourself some mellower days during the week.

Also, make sure you get enough protein! Your body needs it to function properly, especially for how active you are. Foods like soy (tofu or edamame) and quinoa are complete, easy and healthful.

For your heavy workout days you want to be eating 2000 calories, for your off days around 1700. That may sound like a lot but remember, not eating slows down your metabolism!
