Nutrition & Dieting - i dont know what to do!

Expert: Laura Kraemer RN,BSN,CPN - 6/25/2009

Question
I am 14 years old, going to be 15 in October, and i wanna lose
20 lbs or more. I am 5 feet tall (maybe a little taller) and i
weigh about 145. I will work at it for months as long as i see
some results or know for a fact that i will lose the weight. I
wanna know what exercises and food i should eat.

Answer
Kelly, to lose weight you have to force your body to burn stored fat for energy. To burn stored fat you have to walk for at least 30 minutes or more everyday. Your daily diet should consist of five small meals that average about 300 to 350 calories each meal, for a total of about 1500-1750 per day. To count calories, just read the label and look at the portion size. Keep track of what calories are in each food you eat. If you do this and walk daily, you can drop those 20 pounds in a few months. Hope that helps, Laura Kraemer,Slimkids.com
