Nutrition & Dieting/What am I doing wrong?

Good Evening!

I'll start by saying, a few years ago I was nearly 375lbs, I dropped about 120-130 lbs on my own and settled at 250 for a long time. I wanted to lose more but it seemed like no matter what I did, ate less, worked out more, or whatever didn't do anything.

Recently, I shot up 40lbs in just two months. My eating habits range from 1200-1400 cals a day and I'm a really active woman. I do not eat pasta/bread/rice... I eat high protein foods, chicken, tuna, eggs, and two salads a day. I'm STILL gaining weight. Ii'm starting to be very concerned, when I went to my doctor he kept insisting I was over eating.

Should I take my income down to 800? I just don't know what to do!

Sometimes diets can be complex because of underlying issues that affect your personal weight lose  gains. Did your doctor do a complete physical on you including complete blood work? Have you had you RMR (resting metabolic rate) done using the oxygen measurement device. Has your doctor checked you Thyroid? Are you a diabetic or do you have any other issues that you did not mention? There could be many reasons why you are not losing weight. These are just some of the many.
