Nutrition & Dieting - GNC Women's Ultra Mega daily supplement

Expert: George Rapitis, BSc. Nutritionist - 5/11/2004

Question
I was wondering if you had any informations on the GNC product Women's Ultra Mega. My fiance just bought me these for my birthday because he had heard they were a good multivitamin. I'm apprehensive though because of the high dosages each pill has. For instance, there is 200% of Vitamin A, 333% of Vitamin C, 5333% Thiamin, etc. Would you recommended them? Thanks for any help.
-Charlene

Answer
Hi Charlene!

Thank you for your nutrition question.  The dosages are very high because they exceed the recommended amounts.  Why don't you ask your fiance to get you a much better supplement called Juice Plus?  It has the nutrients from 17 fruits and vegetables and is "whole" food based.  I am currently recommending it to my patients who have seen great results with it.  You can find out more information on it and he can order it from http://www.juiceblend.com  Please let me know if you have any questions.
