Question
I was speaking with a man who used to be in the Army and he said that a way to lose up to 10lbs in 3 days is to take a stool softner, is this true? The reason I'm asking, and the reason he told me, I have a police physical exam next Saturday and have been activly working on losing weight but have gained a ton of muscle...I need to bench press 65% of my weight and if I was to lose 3lbs I could bench press that amount, where I am now I'm not sure if I can. Is it safe to take a stool softener for 3 days and never do it again to quickly lose weight? Sorry if this is long and complicated!

Thanks for the help!

Answer
a stool softner probably isn't going to do much for ya. Laxatives and diuretics are a good way to rid your body of excess fluid and lose weight rapidly, but... they also dehydrate you and can make you weak... hence, you probably wouldn't be able to preform well bench pressing. you could increase exercise and keep the same cloric intake. A few miles extra of running... maybe cut back on calories... that would probably be your best bet without depleting all of your energy stores.
