Question
QUESTION: hey i was wondering how much pounds can i lose by june 27? also i hear people say i should eat 1400 calories but i barely eat that and I'm gaining weight why is that? for example i get up at 1pm eat something at about 3pm then i eat dinner at like
8 or 9pm then i go to sleep at about 5am but i don't exercise so why am i gaining so much weight?
ANSWER: Hi Natasha,
It sounds like you are starving your body and that is why you are putting on the fat. Also, your schedule cannot help- is that due to work? If not, I suggest you get back into a healthy routine of going to bed by about 11pm and waking by 7am.
When you eat far below what your body requires the natural self-defence mechanisms kick in and your body basically beleives it will not be fed properly, so tries to store as much fat from the food as possible. It thinks you are going through a famine!
To stop this start by eating regular meals that consist of lean protein and veg. Have snacks of fruit and nuts and drink plenty of water through the day.
Keeping healthy is really very simple, it has just been made complicated through media and bad lifestyle habits.

All the best

QUESTION: what if i was to eat 750-800 calories a day and work out six times a week will a be able to lose 40 pounds by then?

Answer
Natasha,
Please read what I have put in my previous answer- you cannot safely lose the fat by dieting.
The only safe and permenant way is to feed your body regularly with quality food that fills you up and gives you energy.
If you are exercising 6 times a week, then you'll need even more food or else your body will do the starving thing again!
Bin that calorie counting idea please- it will only lead to failure and despair, and I've seen it all too often.

Have a look at www.thinkslimntrim.org for more details.
