Question I'm Jessica and i'm 18 years old. when i was 16 i was diagnosed with depression and i stayed home everday crying in my room. this led to me having to test out of school.
ever since then all i do is stay home everyday. i dont have a job, i dont go to school, i dont do anything. my parents make me feel worse by telling my younger sister not to end up like me. they dont understand. they think that it has all been lack of effort.
every day, all day, i look into the mirror and find yet another thing to hate myself for. i hate every detail about myself. i spend so much time in front of the mirror that i dont have time to eat. and then i lose weight and i feel worse about myself. i google "how can i can weight" . i google about everything.
and i want plastic surgery to fix myself. but if i do have ocd..would they let me undergo the surgery?
do i even have ocd?
Answer Hi,
I do not believe you have OCD based on your input. It sounds like you have issues with self-esteem and self confidence.
You may have depression as well. I strongly suggest you to see psychologist or therapist to discuss and explore your issues.
You can have plastic surgery regardless you may or may not have OCD but I advise you to wait until you are fully well and under treatment prior making any such huge decisions to forego any elective surgery.
