Question Respected Sir/Mam, Hello, I am having an ocd since last 8yrs and i am on homeopathic treatment now, so i wanna ask u that, does obsessive thoughts are all false, does it make any sense, does it carry any message in it, i have an obsession that i may loose my all feelings which a human being has i am afraid of it, does my thoughts are false, is it due to disorder or i really loose my feeling i will become emotionless, thk u, bye.
Answer Dear Manzar,
Yes obsessive thoughts are false, and they don't make any sense. If they did, it would not be OCD. Your fear of losing your emotions is just another fear I've seen from OCD sufferers. Any thought can become an obsession if it scares us enough! As a human being, you can't lose your emotions, just like you can't forget your name. There is not a switch which turns them off and on. Of course, some medications for OCD might make you more numb at the beginning of treatment, but that has nothing to do with losing your emotions. It's a side effect of the drug and not your emotions leaving your soul. The fact that you are afraid (of losing your feelings), well isn't that an emotion? The more you focus on this and analyze yourself to see if you still have emotions, the more you will feel as if you don't..that's how OCD is. It is an intrusive thought, part of OCD. That's all. You have had OCD for 8 years, have you had any CBT? Please try it. It helps tremendously give us people who suffer with OCD, it gives us great techniques to manage it.
