Expertise
Long time Raider fan who has bled silver and black for over 30 years. Make it out to Oakland from NY City, at least once a year to see the boys play. Can answer just about anything regarding the Raiders, even dating back to what their original name was going to be. Might be able to help with other NFL stuff/rules etc...

Question
Hi,
Have the Raiders been known by any
other name or what was their original
name going to be ?
How many cities have they played in ?
How many owners have they had, who were
they ?
Thanks !

Answer
John:

The Raiders were always known as the Raiders although the original name they were going to be called was the "Senors" Thankfully that never came to pass. The Raiders began in Oakland and played there from 1960-1981. From 1982-until 1994 the Raiders played in Los Angeles, and since the 1995 season they have returned to Oakland, becoming the only team to ever return to the city they left. Prior to Al Davis, the principal owner of the Raiders was a man named Chet Soda.
