About Darrel
Expertise
Long time Raider fan who has bled silver and black for over 30 years. Make it out to Oakland from NY City, at least once a year to see the boys play. Can answer just about anything regarding the Raiders, even dating back to what their original name was going to be. Might be able to help with other NFL stuff/rules etc...

Experience
Raider fan for 30 + years.

Question
Do you think that it might have been the main option all along to resign Kerry Collins.  I know that he has had a hard time in Oakland, and I don't know your feelings towards him, but it seems that we have not been too activly persuing any QB options in this years free agency.  I believe it is too risky to wait for the draft in hopes of getting a quality QB as at the 7th pick, anything could happen.  Thanks

Answer
I've said all along that until Kerry Collins signs elsewhere, he's still in their sights, albeit at a reduced number. With the quarterback market drying up and the Raiders history of not going with a young QB, I still get a feeling it's Collins, but reading the tea leaves out of Detroit, I'm getting a sneaking suspicion like I did two years ago prior to the Raiders signing Collins, that they may end up with Joey Harrington...Just a hunch, but the last time I had one like this they indeed signed Collins.
