Experience I have been an Oasis fan since 1994 and have studied their successes, progress and failures in detail since then.
I own over 400 cds, over 100 dvds, have seen them live 41 times and have studied every interview Noel Gallagher has ever given, tkaing notes, comments and quotes from each. As a result of this I have several indexed files, and I am able to quote what Noel has said, or what his opinion is of any event, celebrity or issue he has ever commented on.
In addition, I have several files detailing exactly what they have done, where they have gone, what they have said etc from 29 May 1967 - the day Noel Gallagher was born. This is particularly detailed from January 1994, when the press became aware of them, and I am able to provide details of exactly what they did in any given month/on any given day.
I have also studied each individual song and for each one I can detail when, where and why it was written/recorded, what it is about, how long it took to write/record and the relevant success of it. Due to the amount of research I have done these details are all facts, which Noel Gallagher has actually said, and not just my personal 'take' on it.
Obviously I know every concert/tv/radio appearance Oasis have given, and have the set-list for the vast majority of these. I also know every guest appearance Noel Gallagher has made, either recorded or on-stage with other performers.
I am very confident I would be able to answer any question regarding Oasis quickly, accurately and in detail, with relevant quotations given.
Lastly, to demonstrate my respect for Noel Gallagher - my 10 year old son is named Noel after him!

Question I was just wondering whether you had any information about whether Oasis will be playing soon or any time in 2008 in the UK and if so where are they playing? Thanks.

They were due in the studio to start recording their new album yesterday but Noel Gallagher said on Russell Brand's Radio 2 show on Saturday night (he called in, as he does most weeks) that he was in meetings to discuss where they were going to record.
Noel's girlfriend, Sara McDonald, is pregnant and is due to have the baby in September. Noel said that the recording of the new album would take around 3 months, but that this would not be done in one go, as he will take time off when his new baby is born. So, I would expect the new album to be out sometime next year, probably between summer-winter.
A tour will follow that (no dates have been announced at all yet) and the likelihood is that this will be in the second half of 2008 at some point.
However, Noel is meant to be playing 'For Pities Sake' charity gig at Kokos in London in November, this will be similar to the semi-acoustic shows he has done over the last while with Gem. I would expect Noel and Gem to do some other gigs, as well, although no other dates have been announced or rumoured yet, but a full Oasis tour will not be until the second half of 2008 at the earliest.
