AboutMohamed Kandeel Expertise I can answer questions about antenatal care, medical problems associated with pregnancy, labor and delivery and postpartum care.
Experience Currently I am working as a Professor of Obstetrics gynecology, Menofyia University, Egypt. Since 1987, I worked in many university and private hospitals with a high load of pregnant population averaging 7-9,000 deliveries/year. This exposed me to all problems associated with pregnancy, labor and delivery. Answer Dear Leslie
Women usually ovulate 14-16 days prior to their next menstruation.
In your case, you mentioned your periods were 30-31 days last 3 months. What was before?. Irregular cycles may point to anovulation. On the other hand, Delayed cycle for 5-6 days can be, although not sure, a sign of pregnancy especially if u had this brown bleeding which may mean the occurence of abortion. No 1 can give you a retrograde diagnosis. Home pregnancy tests are usually positive 10-14 days after your missed period.
If you are trying to conceive for more than 1 year in a regualr relationship, you and your partner may better seek medical examination.
