Subject: did not wait 6 week postpartum to have sex
Question I had sex almost 1 month after having my baby. I had two stitches after the
delivery. I didnt feel any pain during or after sex. I've also stopped bleeding.
Since I didnt wait the whole 6 weeks to have sex is there anything I should look
out for?
Answer Many women bounce back faster than 6 weeks and are ready to engage in regular physical activities before that time. In fact, a quick recovery from labor and delivery is a sign of health.
You should watch for the normal signs of a potential postpartum problems like renewed heavy bleeding or fever, but I doubt very much that you'll experience any complications.
Be aware that some women ovulate before they are 6 months postpartum, and that you can get pregnant again, so if you do not want babies back-to-back, use birth control.
