Experience Currently I am working as a Professor of Obstetrics gynecology, Menofyia University, Egypt. Since 1987, I worked in many university and private hospitals with a high load of pregnant population averaging 7-9,000 deliveries/year. This exposed me to all problems associated with pregnancy, labor and delivery. Question forty six is the number of days from the first day of my last period to today when i got a positive pregnancy test adn i am two weeks late for my first day of my period that i missed if that makes sense anyway my question is i waited two weeks after missing my period to take my first hpt and my equate test i took showed a plus symbol if you were pregnant and a minus if you werent. my plus line on the test was wicked dark do you think the test was accurate since i waited so long to take the test. i am having a clear white discharge and have been for two weeks, my boobs hurt and my stomach is bloated every now and then i get a slight cramp and also a sharp pain in my lower vagina is this normal? and how accurate is the test thanks so much!
Answer Dear Mary
In fact im not aware of this test with plus and minus sign. It is not available in my country. Available tests here shows different lines for positive, negative and inconclusive test result.
TAnyway, it may be helpful to know that the accuracy of a home pregnancy test varies widely among the many tests avaiable in the market. Although the symptoms u described are highly suggestive of pregnancy, and according to your words, the test did not show a conclusive result it may be wise to repeat the test or perform a vaginal ultrasound scan.
